Sally is a lecturer in Educational linguistics at the University of Glasgow. She teaches on the TESOL programme and Initial Teacher Education programmes within the School of Education. Her research interests include classroom discourse, functional and cognitive linguistics and multilingualism in both mainstream and Higher Educational settings. She has a special interest in understanding the role of language in the science classroom.
